The location and view were incredible. The house wasn't very clean, and the furniture upstairs is pretty worn out. I would recommend for the location, but the house is just ok. There was mold in the downstairs shower, the switch for the fireplace stopped working, there were ants in the kitchen and the frill was dirty.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were very nice and the property was in a great location. Our experience was everything we had hoped it would be and if the property is available when we plan our next trip we would very much like to stay there again.
The Manor Suite was comfortable and in a lovely area in Victoria. It was great for walking. The suite was clean and nicely decorated. Both the owner and the manager were pleasant and helpful. We would happily repeat a stay there.
We enjoyed our stay. The property is very spacious and in good condition. The location is very convenient for Sidney and the surrounding area. Our only issue was that the house, particularly the upstairs bedroom ,was unbearably hot. I know the weather has been exceptional but stronger fans are required for when the weather is so good. I am also not sure why the sprinkler system has to come on in the middle of the night as it did disturb our sleep for the first few nights. However despite these two points we would recommend the property.
We had a wonderful time in the cottage, while we were vacationing in Sidney. The house is lovely, very cozy and in a great spot. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the beautiful back yard, the easy access to the beaches and the vicinity to Sidney.
Having stayed for about three weeks in November, we enjoyed our stay very much. The owner, Bob June, was very hospitable and helpful with information and with providing whatever supplies we needed. The suite is very comfortable, clean and fully stocked. Its location is ideal as it's only a ten minute walk to the ocean and shopping and is situated in a quiet, mature, gorgeous neighbourhood with lovely old mansions lining the streets. We really had no complaints about the rental, but could offer a more expanded and robust offering of TV-programing.
Beacon Hill condo in Roberts House is perfectly located for not needing a car to walk the harbour, Dallas Road waterfront overlooking the straits and Olympic Mountains of WA state and Beacon Hill Park. It is a great place to spend July and August.
The location of this property was absolutely amazing. Your own private little beach area where you can walk or swim!! It was very quiet and relaxing. The house was set up perfectly and we had lots of room!!
We will definitely look at staying again! Thank you!!!
The cottage was perfect for our family's needs. Even more spacious than it looks. Well situated, well equipped and comfortable. If you're cooking meals there you'll find the kitchen well-equipped too, from blender to salad spinner, but bring your own cooking basics like olive oil, seasoning, sugar, etc., because they are not supplied.
We had a lovely stay, and the house had everything we needed. The check in process was unnecessarily complicated by having someone meet us at the property, despite there being a simple key code to enter the property. Due to covid restrictions my very young children were required to stay outside in the cold and dark until I had been given any necessary tour of the property. It would have made far more sense to email us the key code in advance. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay.
The place was much more than expected. The house was clean, the supplies ample, very spacious and the location was great. The only complaint was that the master's bedroom upstairs was very hot on a 30 degrees day in July. Even the ceiling fan and the portable fans did not help much. Except for that, our family enjoyed our stay at Heron's Landing.
Our family of 14 adults, coming from all corners of the US, found this home a perfect accomodation for all of us. The outside dining table as well as inside dining was a wonderful surprise. The home was stocked with many games to play - we loved the Cribbage Board/Table. You made our 7 day reunion special. Thank you!
I was taking my daughter to University. The property had an excellent kitchen with everything we needed. I would highly recommend this property to everyone. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay while in Victoria. Nancy
Heron View Cottage was a wonderful place for our quiet vacation. The cottage is beautiful and comfortable. The village of Sidney, where it is located, is a clean, happy place for shopping or walking by the sea. We visited in early October, and morning walks around the cove behind the owner's home were filled with a foggy quiet broken only by bird calls and distant fog horns. The cottage is located about 30 minutes from downtown Victoria, and the route there is simple. I would highly recommend the cottage.
Overall it was really good. A few items to note
We were missing some items which would have been good to have. We ran out of toilet paper on the first day and there was no spare. We ran out of washing up liquid and there was no spare. We couldn't find spare garbage bags. The kitchen could also be better stocked - no saucepans, no good knives, no tea towels.
The property management process was also a real pain. I had to fill out 3 separate forms and then send back signed documents. I also had to email a few times to sort out the arrival. VRBO is super straight forward - it would be better if you could just use their system.
Wonderful quiet property . Spectacular ever-changing ocean front views with eagles, herons, sea lions & seals. Great kitchen, dining room and living room for entertaining. Visit the farmers market in Quallicum and Goats on the Roof in Coombs. The Francis Barkly day cruise out of Port Alberni to Tofino is memorable as are the fish & chips at Bare BonesPort Alberni. Endless opportunities for day trips to parks and beaches in the area.
We were here a month in the fall. Lovely garden close to the beach/bird sanctuary, bus line. A 1 km walk to restaurants, grocery, etc. It was perfect. The only possible negative is the parking. We had a small car,so we could use the small garage next to the cottage. If you have a large car, you will have to park on the street about a block away. Any visitors will also have to park a block away.
We had a wonderful 3 days at the cabin to celebrate thanksgiving with friends. The house had everything we needed except no dishwasher tablets and enough toilet paper we ran out on day 2!
Location is ideal so close to the ferry. A nice quiet area and 10min drive to the shops.
Will be back again I'm sure!
There was some confusion about wheel chair access. This was definitely NOT accessible. There were two stairs at the front and none of the bathrooms were accessible. As a result two of our party received injuries as a result. But it seems there was some confusion between sites on how it was advertised. The property itself was very nice and comfortable. The hostess was helpful and really tried to meet our need for a ramp. I would also consider removing the white carpets as they are not a great idea in a rental advertised for families. Other than those issues, the property itself I think was great and if you have no mobility issues, it's very comfy and close to both Parksville and Nanaimo.
A beautiful location. Gorgeous oceanfront property, Great hiking nearby.
The home was very clean, but a little tired. Kitchen and bathrooms are older. Fairly well stocked kitchen.
Accessed by a winding country road and then a steep driveway into property. Neither was a problem because they were well maintained.
Exceptional property management team, went out of their way to accommodate us at the last minute.
We came from Innisfil, ON and Winnipeg, MB for a family wedding. We had a big group of adults and a youngster and baby. It was a lot of room for all of us with lots of sitting areas. We loved the beach access and the glassed in sitting area. The management company was very helpful. Thank you for the lovely stay.
We spent the month of March in Sidney and were very comfortable at Heron's Landing. The house is comfortable with two gas fireplaces, comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen and lots of room. Our daughter and her family visited us there for a week and the accommodations for six of us were very good with plenty of space for everyone. EMR were efficient and helpful with everything ready for us when we arrived. We would recommend this rental to families and two or three couples to share.
We have had several vacation rentals all over the world and this vacation rental is by far our top rated experience. The suite, and particularly the kitchen, was very thoughtfully equipped we are a chef family with everything we needed. The owners and their lovely dog were wonderful caring hosts. The rental was cozy and the beautiful yard and gardens are very private. The rental was centrally located and walking distance to every place we needed to be. Our walks through the quite friendly neighbourhood were such a pleasure with all the beautiful homes and gardens. We would love to return to this very spot for future visits to Victoria. Dealing with EMR Vacation Rentals was great very professional, efficient and courteous. We would definitely consider additional vacation rental opprtunities with this company.
As with everyone else we have been unable to travel or see family for almost 2 years. Thanks to Canada we were finally able to gather together. The Patricia Bay House was perfect! Beautifully situated on the bay. A lovely 2 story house with great views. We enjoy cooking together and I cant say enough about how well equipped the kitchen was. Everything a cook could think of. I cant think of a more perfect place to spend time!
Arbutus Hill was described appropriately and did not disappoint us in any way. We searched for a home that could accommodate 4 couples with 4 baths. One couple had to cancel so each of us had their own bathroom. Master suite lottery was won by the Georgia couple and they loved the luxury. We were all comfortable in our private spaces. The common areas were anything but common. We've never seen a wrap around couch so big and the dining room table is fit for a large gathering. Comfortable patio furniture allowed us to view the water and relax. Loved our time there. Candice greeted us like we were old friends and we were invited to contact her on her cell phone if we had any problems!
I am very picky about cleanliness and I was pleasantly surprised. We really enjoyed the space, the comfortable beds, and the perfect views. We found a lot of fun activities nearby, lots of great hikes, zip-lining, etc, and the drive to Victoria was easier than I thought it would be. All in all, this rental was a great choice.
Mu husband and I brought family for their first ever vacation outside the U.S. The house was wonderful. Fantastic views. We thought it might be a bit too far from
Victoria, it wasn't, and since we ventured all over the peninsula, it worked out great. EMR provided great customer service and we would highly recommend this property to travelers to the area. The local Thrifty Foods in Sidney had wonderful seafood, for cooking in,it was quite the surprise. Hyland,s Fish & Chips was a wonderful surprise, best fish and chips we had on the island. Also, don't miss the crab cakes at the Muse Winery.
in July 2016 we stayed in this Condo for 5 nights and there are only positive things to say about everything. We have been fully satisfied with and enjoyed our stay there. For hope to have the Chance to come back somedays.
WE thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with our 2 grown sons. A very comfortable and well appointed cottage with everything you could possibly need in a quiet peaceful setting. It greatly enhanced our vacation.
Well, with it being difficult to know where your clients come from and what their experiences are, you have set up the vacation home listing in such a way that for those of us who live life simply, we were delightfully surprised at the size, spaciousness and set up of the home so that we could all be close and yet be involved in our own activities. Some needed to relax while others wanted to be engaged in games, puzzles or visiting. The sites from the balcony, living room and master bedroom were simply stunning, with many a time where wild deer were walking and grazing thru the yard. The venue and ambiance was amazing. Thank-you so much for caring about the smallest details to the overall needs of family living!
Our stay here was almost perfect - the view of the water and mountains in the distance - wow. However, the upstairs heated up quite a bit during the day investment in sunshades would be wise. The beds were all a bit too soft, and the couple in one queen nearest the kitchen rolled toward the middle all night. Also, the greeter had turned on all the heaters, which were not needed on a 72 degree day. It took us a while to cool things down. Kitchen well-equipped, bathrooms lacked shower soap but otherwise fine. All in all, a great place to stay.
Natures Gate was a wonderful venue for my husband's 60th birthday getaway. In total there were 4 couples there the entire week, and 2 fellows who came for part of the week. Plenty of room for all in this well-appointed private home. The view of Greater Victoria, the ocean and the Olympic Mountains from the patio was nothing short of breathtaking, both during the day and in the evening. Everyone was comfortable, the beds were great and the location was quite convenient for both shopping and golfing. We were out most days which was good, because there IS construction going on during weekdays in the lot beside the house, but because we were only home in the evenings the noise was not a huge problem. Lots of wildlife, with deer in the yard beside us quietly grazing. Overall a lovely stay in a lovely home. Highly recommend it.
All in all I enjoyed my stay at Oceanfront. I have re-booked it.
It has THE most beautiful view imaginable! As a single woman travelling alone, I felt safe and secure.
I so appreciated access to Sirius radio.
'Ray our greeter was a wonderfully informative man with an easy friendliness that put me so at ease and set my vacation off on just the right foot. He was still the same guy when he had to get up to check me out at 500 am.
My only suggestion is that the kitchen could use a little overhaul. as it were.
A non-stick fry pan would be a great addition as would a grouping of plastic lidded container for food storage in the fridge.
These are little things but when one stays in to eat most meals , convenience is imperative for a good experience.
I mentioned these little thing to Ray and he promised to bring attention to the appropriate people.
My experience was a good one and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Oceanview to my friends.
This is a small but lovely unit. Very comfortable and clean. Incredible views and a great location.
I had a couple of issues while I was staying there that were promptly handled by the female employees of EMR.
Overall the Condo was great. Did not expect the Marina having a boat body shop so close with loud noises off and on Mon-Fri. The Condo Patio was never cleaned. We cleaned hand rails and cob-webs when we arrived. But the railing glass panels and windows have dirt, which shows they have not been touched in months. Tried to use the Vacuum cleaner on the carpets, but it was so clogged up, not having been emptied in months. Very disappointed not being able to use the gas fireplace when we arrived. Coming from the Desert at a 112 degrees to 65 degrees, it would have been nice to use it for a couple of days. This should be changed in the web site for amenities the dates it can only be used. Being at the condo for so long, only left for 5 days you notice more little problems then folks coming and going for shorter periods.
We stayed at Resthaven for three nights over Christmas and it is a very pleasant and cozy cottage. our family and dogs were very comfortable and it was within close proximity to our family who live in the area.
Heron's Landing is a 5 star resort home. The linens are very high quality and the beds are extremely comfortable. The home is located in a beautiful neighbor that is 1/2 block from the water. The home has many amenities such as new dishwasher, washer and dryer.
Four of our adults daughters and one infant granddaughter along with my husband and myself stayed in the home. Everything we could possibly need was there. We would able to invite our extended family back after my father's funeral. It was such a blessing to be able to do so.
Restaurants, grocery stores etc are located within a 5 minute drive.
We would all HIGHLY RECOMMEND this home to anyone. It is very affordable priced. We hope to have the opportunity to stay again in the future.
The Management Company was excellent as well.
This home truly surpassed all my expectations nothing was overlooked in this beautiful home. It has all the amenities you would have in your own home making you feel incredibly comfortable & gives a whole new meaning to home away from home. I will absolutely recommend this rental to everyone I know - I will definitely come back to this place. It is simply the best vacation rental I have ever stayed at.
We stayed for 4 nights and had a fantastic time in Victoria. The suite is very well maintained and a super location close to everything. Great area outside to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. The Rockland area is close everything and can walk to all the attractions in Victoria. Great for you pet and close to the Cook street waterfront dog park. Defiantly will re-book this unit when we are in Victoria again.
We were only here for 3 nights but the location was great. Minutes from the ocean. Because of our short stay we hardly spent any time in the house/yard but it was nice to have the space and morning coffee on the deck
Rather than buy gifts for everyone for Christmas we decided to rent accomodations for our family of 13. Was a wonderful interlude from winter-28 degrees in Central B.C. for five days! With a 15 passenger van we were able to explore the area and cityand both grandkids and adults found the beach fascinating! The weather co-operated too so all in all it was a golden moment in time for our family!I heard many times Grandma, this was better than opening any gift!We will savor our pictures and memories for a long time to come!!!
A beautiful well equipped spacious property spotlessly clean with spectacular views from most rooms deck and spa.Very peaceful location. Our children and grandchildren enjoyed biking and hiking kayaking and beach combing all within a short distance from the property. We would love to return next year.
The location was great and the room was clean. Two electrical plug did not work on either side of the bed and the toilet leaked causing it to refill regularly. The refund of the damage deposit took over 2 weeks to receive which is far too lond
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was tastefully decorated with all kinds of local art and quality furnishings. We loved the private back yard and took advantage of the grill and the outdoor eating area. The location was very convenient especially since we had a car. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood. Bob and Elizabeth were good hosts and Bob provided us with lots of helpful suggestions. This was our first time in Victoria and the apartment was like a home away from home. We would certainly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a place to stay in Victoria.
Outstanding location with a beautiful view. Everything you need is there. Very quite neighborhood. Beach is not sandy, but quite rocky. Even though, a wonderful place to stroll and explore.
Two things I think could use some improvement are, the bed in the Master BR really needs to be replaced, and the CRT televisions need to go in the trash.
We had the pleasure of staying in this home over Christmas. It has a breathtaking view, always something happening on the ocean and the home is lovely. We extended our visit by two days as we did not want to leave. The neighbourhood is friendly and great to take walks. Short drive to amenities. We loved this trip mostly due to this accomodation.
Miraloma 209 was a beautiful and large luxory condo. The toilet ran continually, though, and the bathroom racks were not ptoperly fixed to the wall. It would be nice to have a few kitchen supplies e.g. salt and pepper in the kitchen. Otherwise, it was
perfect, although next time I might reserve a water view condo.
My family and I enjoyed a two week stay at Heron's Landing in Sidney, BC. The layout of the house made it easy both for our group to be together for meals and visiting, and for individuals to have private time. The beds were comfortable the linens of good quality the kitchen functional the laundry facilities very convenient. The weather was not quite warm enough for us to enjoy the decks and garden although we did use the BBQ.
property was lovely-view & wildlife lovely. Disappointed in not being able to swim. Very rocky beach - even walking was challenging. Lot's of eagles and ever changing landscape was beautiful but did not meet our expectations of a beach holiday.
Another family joined us and we had a fabulous time! Lots of hiking in the area. Made use of hot tub and the were able to walk the kid to Bear Mountain resort to use the heated pool. Parents were able to have a nice night to them selves with personal chef in the wine cellar, which was amazing!!! Great location with lots to do.
Great retreat for large group. We were 13 people and very comfortable. They have everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The only criticism would be that the WiFi was a little slow.
This is a perfect location very close to the #1 and only 15 mins to downtown Victoria. Perfect for a family that doesn't spend all of their time downtown. Easy access to up island activities and excursions.
Very clean, modern and quiet residential building.
Our stay at Columbia Beach House was a great way to spend September! The location is amazing and made it easy to do day trips and still drop back to the house to explore the beach while the tide was out. A great way to spend time with your family!
Heron View Cottage was a great place for our girls trip and the owner was very kind and accommodating. The cottage could still use more window coverings as we felt a little exposed at times. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would certainly stay here again. The cottage was very comfortable and the location was excellent.
The unit was very well equipped with all cooking and bbq utensils that one could ask for. Very tastefully furnished and comfortable. Internet modem did not work, nor did the telephone. Not checked by greeter and not fixed during our stay with no accomdation offered to offset this inconvenience
We had a great time & beautiful weather for our full week of vacation. Loved the community, found the people to be very friendly. Recommend J&V's burger & pizza. Excellent food & service, have great halibut & cod as well!Didn't have any luck fishing the lake, but still had fun trying. The rental property really needs new frying pans, had to go out & buy one!
We stayed for 12 days. Cons The place was clean with the exception of the washing machine. It had some mold on the outer rim, inside the door. A couple of the walls had dirty hand marks. The Bar stools were too tall for the counter. The pull out bed was not really comfortable. My son ended up sleeping on the couch not pulled out. You could hear people talking in the halls on occasion. Pros Liked having the secure underground parking. Plenty of space for the three of us. Excellent customer service. We needed to extend our stay by a couple of days and they were able to accommodate no trouble. Check in & out was simple.
The house itself is beautiful, no question. It suited our needs nicely in terms of #of beds, amazing kitchen etc. The location is great only minutes drive to Westin Hotel. The view off the back patio is stunning.
Our stay was disappointing from 2 perspectives. Firstly, there was a lot of construction going on right behind us. This made it very dusty and we were awoken to the sounds of heavy machinery 100yds off our bedroom window at 7am every morning.
The second disappointment was that the house had no air conditioning. The day we arrived the outside temp was 30 deg celsius and it stayed that way for 4 out of our 5 nights. In the evening we were sweating while having dinner. You didn't really even want to cook inside in that beautiful kitchen. At night, everyone had very poor sleeps, waking up several times due to the heat in the house.
I understand that nothing can be done about the construction aside from perhaps a drop in rates and that eventually the work will be complete, but a house that large and that expensive without A/C is a surprise. I didn't even think to check about that when I booked but I will be sure to check for A/C in all my future rentals.
If I were coming back at a cooler time of the year and when construction is complete I would for sure stay in that house again. If I were coming back in the summer at all I would not rent this house again because of the lack of A/C. If a friend asks me about the house I would have the same advice for them.
Lovely modern condo with lots of space and big windows. All the amenities for a comfortable stay. Easy to navigate to Highways for all areas of Island. Close to Sooke, Royal Roads University and other attractions in area.
We were 2 couples enjoying this amazing cottage. It was very well maintained and in a perfect location. Situated in a beautiful neighborhood. There is beach accessibility just down the street for a nice walk as well. If you like to walk it is a nice walk into town. Management company is very accessible and easy to work with. Overall we loved this place and would go an.
Our stay at the Arbutus Hill Home was perfect! There was more than enough space for 4 couples, with great amenities and a well-equipped modern kitchen. The Jacuzzi and Pool Table were also big hits while waiting for the weather to improve a little bit to allow for some outdoor activities!
Good sized accommodation for two people. Condo was well stocked with all the amenities. Only suggestion would be to provide more information in the property binder. I.e. Some basic info on how to use the television, how to turn off the AC, things to do in the area, local restaurants, etc. Also, just a suggestion, update the travel magazines in the condo, most were over 3 years old. But other than those minor details this unit was great for the two of us.
PROS We are a family of seven, so there was plenty of room for all of us and then some. It was wonderful to be able to stake out our own areas for some down time. Awesome kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The openness and amazing views of the San Juan de Fuca Strait is lovely. The billiards table was fun to play with. And we did take a dip in the hot tub one night. We love all the arbutus trees and seeing the deer relaxing by the house. A few from the family walked the trail behind the house and said it was nice and quiet and could go on for quite a while. A/C was a huge plus and it worked amazingly well. It was surprisingly warmer than we thought it would be in Metchosin.
It gets very windy at night here. So, expect trees blowing and the wind howling at night. But by morning, it was down to a nice breeze. The town of Metchosin was quiet and mellow. We went to its Farmers Market. It took us about 30 minutes to get to downtown Victoria and close to an hour to get to the Victoria Airport.
CONSThe one thing, though, that bothered us was trying to find the trail to the beach. The person who met with us on our arrival date, said that it was just across the street and five minutes down. He didn't provide a map, because as far as we could walk - we didn't see any trails that would lead us to the beach without actually going through someone's property. We tried for 2 days to look for this trail and could not figure out where it was. That was a huge disappointment because the 5-minute walk to the beach was one of the biggest reasons we rented this house. The grand kids love water and would have loved an opportunity to just cross the road and head down there to play. The beach that we did find was about a ten-minute drive - by car. So no big deal but a walking map to the beach would be super helpful!
Very nice, clean home with a fabulous view. Very well stocked kitchen. The hot tubs water needed to be balanced better lots of foam so we did not get to use it. Had fun playing pool. Overall very enjoyable 3 days.
everything about this house was perfect.....except the BBQ.
i was hosting 30 people for a BBQ dinner and was unable to cook the meat fast enough. replace the BBQ it is worn out. I had to cook the chicken in the oven.
Our 3 generations of family had such a wonderful stay at Pendray house. The home was clean and cozy and had everything that we needed for our 2 week vacation. We loved hearing about the history of the home and talking to the neighbours about the beautiful surrounding area. We beach combed, canoed supplied our own, wandered the quite neighbourhood and basked in the magical view. It was wonderful to be able to bring our four legged family member along with us too. Although we come from different parts of the world we definitely hope to be back one day to add to the amazing memories made.
Cottage was comfy and cozy, and right on the bus route to Sidney and downtown Victoria so we didn't need a vehicle. The only things lacking were bedside lamps for those who like to read in bed the cottage had everything else. We would certainly stay again.
This was our third time at Heron View! That alone says it all......we LOVE this place. Great location, every item imaginable one could ask for, comfortable etc. etc.. Oh yes...we will be back! Thanks Jim and EMR.
House was a little outdated. Lawn needed to be mowed and had a lot of weeds. The beach had a run down shed with glass on the beach. A lot of space in the yard and house. Everything in the house worked. The driveway was very steep.
Depending on your requirements this rental may by perfect or just average.
1. Booking through their portal is buggy and annoying.
2. Meeting a greater sounds great but waiting for them again is annoying.
3. The deer gate is not Impossible to open and close. But after the 15 or 20 time doing it, one really wishes for a motorized gate.
4. Being a pet friendly house there is obviously going to be pet hair in the rental. If you have issue with pets this rental is not for you. It's clean, but any pet owner knows you can't ever get it all.
5. They have several large rugs that are deadly to step onto as they slide extremely easily. Obviously they have identified this issue as some parts are tapped to floorWITH CHEAP packing tape. A much better and complete solution should be used. Do not bring Grandma here. Everyone in our party slipped on the carpet over our stay. No one fell, but we had a bunch of close calls.
6. The dinning room table is decent but the chairs are old and some of them have almost no cushion left. The chairs are mismatched and of multiple heights and styles. The dinning room also has one of the tripping spots as the rug edge from the kitchen is not tapped, even though it's a high traffic area. The rest of the furniture is good.
Lastly the neighbor has multiple roosters which start at 430-5am and go all day untill about 9pm. It's kinda cool and unique for the first day or two but then it gets old.
The pictures are accurate and give a good description of the home. It is worth noting this a very rural property. But shops and restaurants are 5-10 minutes drive away. Skip doesn't deliver but door dash did.
We picked this property due to it's size and proximity to the commonwealth pool. Which we made 20 trips to for a swim meet.
I wouldn't recommend this property as ocean view or frontage can be found in the same price range.
Very nice home in a nice neighborhood/location. The only thing I would suggest to add would be an outdoor propane heater so we could sit out in the evening and enjoy and sounds of the ocean.
We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. The view was priceless the house perfect for our group of 7, everyone had their own room.
One small disappointment, we were not able to use the deck at the bottom of the stairs by the water since it was being used to store firewood.
It was a comfortable house across a double yellow lined street from a private dock & beautiful lake. The street is noisy & busy & treacherous. The house driveway is hidden so each time you leave it you feel lucky there wasn't any traffic.
We enjoyed ourselves & liked the area. The only criticism of the house is the table only had 4 chairs which doesn't work when it's supposed to be for 8.
This rental turned out to be a longer term, 6 month rental versus a short term stay. The condo is small but well laid out and worked well for 2 people. Top floor is a bonus as it the outside deck space with seating and a BBQ. There were a few minor things that needed to be sorted out at the front end of the rental time with the EMR staff very efficiently and effectively addressing. The location for our needs was outstanding being central with easy access into downtown Victoria, the airport and ferries, going over to Sooke or heading up Island but having a vehicle is a must. Right across the street is a shopping mall with all the services you need to complete the stay - grocery, liquor and a few take-out food options. The complex that this unit is in well kept, and for the most part, quiet. As with all condo complexes, there was the occasional noisy neighbour issue but nothing that was tolerable as it seldom lasted.
Enjoyed the quietness of the lake, which I find so restorative, year after year at North Lake Waterfront Home. Cleanliness much improved, thanks. And glad to have the rowboat and paddleboat in working order. Great new dock too!
One suggestion....for the main floor bedroom....perhaps extra bed linens could be stored elsewhere, thus leaving the wire racks in the cupboard avaiable to unpack your clothes so you don't need to live out of a suitcase during your stay.
I appreciated having access to extra bed linens since I didn't know whether I would have guests come for a day or two....but wonder if a different storage space could be found????? eg. hall closet??
Our greeter was great and so helpful to help carry bags in for in my friend who has a mobility disability. Thank you !!!!
Will return as often as I can!!!
I was very pleased to have a house where my family and friends could stay over the day before and day after our wedding. We were happy with the space and location. The only downside was that I had prefaced my reservation asking if it would be ok to have an open house mid afternoon the day following our wedding as I wanted to b clear about our reason for renting a house and the property management company left me a voice mail an hour before my wedding saying they needed to speak about it right away. It was disappointing that they didn't have all emails I sent on file as I tried to be as transparent as possible about the open house and someone calling to tell me it might be a problem was a bit stressful. The property management was very professional and it was a non issue as it was roughly 20-30 people who stopped over the course of 5hrs mid-day when noise was not an issue. Overall the property was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay.
Easy booking, in all questions quick response before our trip, nice greeter at our arrival, spacy house in good conditions, very clean, spectacular views to Victoria and the sea.
We purposely chose this vacation home due to its proximity to our relatives and and the rental pictures and description. Our family of four from Florida was wowed from the moment we arrived! The home exceeded our expectations. Our greeter was very knowledgable about the house and we were able to settle in quickly. The home was neat and clean and contained everything we needed for the week.....linens, towels, kitchenware, paper products, etc. The views of the water, mountains, nature, and the surrounding area were amazing. We enjoyed walking down the path behind the home to sit near the water. Relaxing by the fireplace was also a special treat after sight-seeing all day. We saw a hockey game, had tea at the Empress Hotel, saw the view from atop Mt. Douglas, visited the holiday festival at Butchardt Gardens, enjoyed the shops and restaurants in Sidney, toured downtown Victoria, walked at the beaches, hiked the trails to the waterfalls at Goldstream Park, saw Beacon Hill Park, visited many Tim Hortons, and much more. And we won't forget experiencing our first earthquake on 12/30, too! We definitely will recommend this property to friends and relatives and won't hesitate to stay again in the future!
This house was great for our family of 9 adults who were visiting Victoria for a family wedding. The view from the dining room, living room and deck was stunning. The fireplace in the living room made for comfortable, relaxing evenings for visiting and the little extras throughout the house made it very inviting and feel like home. As we all arrived at different times from various points in Canada and the US, we truly appreciated the convenience of access to the airport and the ferry. Although there were only 3 queen size beds, the bunk beds in the 2 other rooms were big enough that for a few nights, young adults were able to sleep comfortably.
Excellent setting and perfect for spending time with our 87 year old mother. With the bedrooms on the main level with the gorgeous views and kitchen, it was perfect for someone with mobility issues. Windows offered fantastic natural lighting for jigsaw puzzles and reading. Wonderful nearby restaurants and activities too.
Well maintained 1 bedroom suite with huge bathroom and lovely soaker tub plus separate shower. Situated 2 blocks roughly from Craigdarroch Castle and 1 block from Govt House. Lovely area for walking. Owners live upstairs and are very congenial. Dog friendly with fenced back area. Little darker than expected as unit is partially underground. Not a lot of insulation between floors so can be a bit noisy. Bed mattress needs to be replaced. Did NOT like EMR's return of deposit policy and inflexibility with same. Will deter us from using them again.
A beautiful, clean, fully equipped property with everything you could need, including a little garden. Details did specify DVDs and CDs which we were unable to locate - however this did not alter our views that it was excellent. Lovely quite location within walking distance to beaches. Walking distance to town and amenities not as close as expected but not an issue as we had transport. It is close to both the ferry terminal and the airport. Only negative was the management personnel, the greeter appeared disinterested and in a hurry to get away. She handed over one key the other was apparently missing - we later learned that this had been taken home by a previous occupant although the owner of the property was not aware of this and pointed to a book on the table. When we emailed them re check out they asked what time would we like, we replied and they didn't confirm whether that was OK or not. On the morning of check out they telephoned to request we check out ourselves as they were short of staff etc! However, management aside, we would definitely recommend this luxury property as a base for exploring Vancouver Island.
The Lakeside Cottage was everything we could have wished for - quiet, private location, beautiful lake views, two decks and a dock to relax on and everything we needed for easy self catering - a well stocked kitchen and BBQ on the deck. The lake was clear and warm and we took full advantage of the paddle boat and row boat and our dog who loves to swim could not have been happier. We will be back for sure!
The location, amenities, access to ocean walkways and convenience to restaurants and stores made for a very
pleasant holiday. Even on rainy days, just staying home made for a restful day. 1st class
EMR staff was waiting when we arrived. We had one small issue early on and EMR were on it right away. Beautiful cottage setting. The property was a bit tired looking but fit the cottage appeal. Great beach access perfect for groups with kids. Our granddaughters spent many many hours exploring the beach and water. Accommodated our group that had people from 7 to 87. Large patio with huge table and lots of deck chairs was our favorite spot. Great bird watching. Easy access to Sidney and Victoria and all the sites in the area. We would definitely rent this property again.
Our family had a great time staying in this lovely house set in a quiet semi rural area near the sea. The house is very well equipped with everything you need while on holiday from patio tables/chairs, BBQ to an abundance of clean towels. There are short and long walks to and along the sea shore and through the countryside.
We rented the suite while we were renovating our townhouse. It was the perfect loction for us at this time. After a hard day's work it was lovely to sit comforably in our home away from home.
We appreciated the efforts of the caretaker, Bryan to take care of any of our concerns.
Every thing was very good except the way the cleaning person was organized We had to wait 15 minutes for the check in person to arrive. There was an obligatory cleaning time half way through our stay and this was poorly organized the agreed times to clean the cottage were changed 4 times by the cleaning person and in the end we complained to the EMR staff in Vancouver who gave us a return on the cost for the halfway cleaning which we undertook ourselves.
Our group consisted of 9 people, ages 5 to 70, for a family get together of 4 different households. I had never rented a vacation home before so it was a new experience. It was an easy process. The staff was very helpful. Our greeter was helpful in directing us to a place to eat & a grocery store that first night. We had an issue with the BBQ girl. It was quickly resolved. We enjoyed ourselves we decided we need to do family get together more regularly & would certainly prefer Pendray House if we return to the area and use EMR if looking elsewhere.
Nice house with beautiful views. The inside of the house was not cleaned or well stocked. We had one garbage bag for 5 days with 4 people. One roll of partially used paper towels, and the garbage outside was completely full when we arrived. We ran out of toilet paper thankfully right before we left.
The hot tub was green and cloudy.
We loved the house but just be warned to bring your own supplies.
Also the person who was suppose to come check us out at 11 never showed.
Good location- neighbourhood and town of Sidney wonderful. Walked back into the 70's--kitchen needs upgrade and orange shag rug in entry/storage room smelled. I accept that the house is pet friendly. Lots of owner paraphernalia around. Bed mattresses very comfortable but futon like and VERY low. we are 6 feet tall and 70 yrs, old Sump pump bubbling sound in tub was fairly constant as we rented in Feb. New reading lighting in living room would be helpful. Expect renting in sumer would be delightful to enjoy lovely back garden.
Our guests gathered at Pendray House for 4 nights to attend our son's wedding and travelled from the USA and England. We knew it would not be easy to accommodate 14 adults when we started our search for a vacation rental in the Sidney area, but feel extremely lucky to have found this beautiful rental property right on the water. The rental procedure was easy and straight forward with good communication between us and the managers, who responded to questions and were very helpful on arrival. The house is quite spacious and has 3 very good bathrooms, with ample hot water and towels. The kitchen was large enough to cope with group breakfasts and lunches. The real advantage of this property though is the delightful outside space and access to the little beach. Our guests were able to spend a lot of time on the deck and beach, enjoying the incredible views across the inlet with the ever changing light reflecting different colors and moods on the water. The large table out there was used for lunch and dinner and would be the perfect spot for a BBQ. We saw an eagle and seals and enjoyed the tranquility of the neighborhood and easy access to shopping in Sidney. There is adequate on street parking outside the house and some little trails to take a walk and explore the coastline. This house was a perfect vacation rental and none of us wanted to leave. What a wonderful experience for our family and friends in beautiful British Columbia!!
Heron View cottage was a well appointed, beautifully kept place to spend our vacation. A short walk to the beach and close to the quaint downtown of Sidney it was an ideal location. The owner obviously takes great care of it and it was more than comfortable. We would love to return!!!
This was our third stay in the Manor Suite off Rockland. We feel very much at home there. The suite is nicely furnished and very comfortable and the location is ideal, close to shopping, tourist attractions and all the amenities of the city. Yet the neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful. Government House is nearby, and we enjoyed early morning walks in the beautiful gardens. The Manor Suite is a very good base for a vacation in Victoria.
This house is very comfortable and well equipped, especially if you are intending to cook family meals. We really liked that it had a bar fridge for wine and beer so that we could store plenty of food in the main fridge. The hot tub is very well maintained and in a private but beautiful location. The convenience of the ferry terminal and the town of Sidney nearby are added bonuses, since Sidney is one of our favourite places. Everything in the house was as described and photographed, was well maintained and clean, with good support from the property management company. We would certainly recommend this house for others to stay in. There is a charming pub about a 5 minute drive away, the Stonehouse.
Had a great stay at the Heron View Cottage. The management company was great to work with, and the owner checked in on us to ensure everything was okay. This became a great base of operations for exploring the greater Victoria area. So nice to be able to walk to things nearby, including the BC Transit to downtown Victoria. Thanks for helping us have a great and memorable vacation.
1310 Manor Road is a good place to stay for a visit to Victoria. It is comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood with a great private backyard for relaxing. It is near a bus stop and it was easy to go downtown to all the interesting activities and restaurants as well as to Butchart Gardens and Sydney. Also it is just two blocks from the Governors Residence with its own beautiful gardens. We walked and used inexpensive monthly bus passes not a car for our adventurous daily travels. Bob is very friendly and promptly took care of any problems.
We had a great trip to Vancouver Island and our stay in Sidney was wonderful. The Resthaven Cottage we rented was as advertised and everything was neat, clean and tidy. The rental company EMR Vacation Rentals was on top of all the details probably a few too many emails but overall and excellent experience.
This is a very nice property. It was the first time it had been rented and we found a few things it needed. Very pointed this out to the property managers and I expect it will be perfect for the next renters. I would rent this property again and will definitely work with the management company. They were very good.
Enjoyed our stay - helped by fabulous weather the entire time! Nice tidy property with lovely deck and garden. Very well equipped and comfortable, nice to have a bit of beach a short walking distance. Company very helpful when there was a problem with the Wi-Fi, got it sorted out promptly. Bit of aircraft noise during the day due to proximity of airport.
The cottage was delightful! Peaceful and calm - just what these Americans needed. Walked to town and strolled the quaint village. The cottage was clean and decorated such that you felt at home ! We will be back. The owner lives next door and was very informative.
The property and its owner who lived next door was lovely. The management company sent too many redundant email notifications. Check-in is too late at 4 PM. Check out greeter did not show up and the information about this check out person was wrong as it turned out to be the name and number of the cleaning staff.
This was the perfect vacation rental for our family vacation. We were three families six adults, 2 kids and 2 babies and the house provided ample room and entertainment for all age groups. The house was exactly as shown in the pictures and we were not disappointed from the moment we walked in. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and other odds and ends. We used the BBQ most nights however it could use a good cleaning or upgrade. The location was ideal, being right on the ocean and provided endless hours of entertainment for the kids, playing in the sand, hunting for seashells and other sea life, watching the sea lions and flying kites. The house is very close to grocery stores and central to many attractions on the island that can be visited in short day trips. The property management staff were very easy to deal with and prompt in replying to any questions or concerns we had. An unforgettable vacation at the Columbia Beach House!
This property was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Exactly as described, we were not disappointed in any way. For a winter stay, it was well heated - in summer it may be too warm. Great location close to the highway. Although we did not investigate public transport a car would be an advantage.
As other guests have stated the kitchen is very outdated, old wall mounted oven, small fridge etc. Overall though we were satisfied with the rental however I would prefer if the master bedroom had a real box spring and mattress bed. Great location, nice backyard and deck. Easy 20 minute walk to Beacon Avenue. This wasn't an issue for us but the TV is not HD and the stereo does not work. Good selection of books to read. Property management was a half an hour late meeting us upon arrival, other than that all was well.
We had a great vacation on Vancouver Island staying at Arbutus Hill. We enjoyed going hiking, swimming, going to the beach and exploring Victoria. Our 5 kids loved the hot tub and pool table and all the space we had in this beautiful house. The kitchen is supplied with everything to make meals for a large family. The deck is wonderful with the ocean view. The beach at Witty's Lagoon is recommended to visit with kids at low tide, as well as the Sooke River potholes and go fishing or boating at Pedder Bay Marina.
This little cottage on North Lake is a gem. Brilliant, refreshing and clean lake made for perfect swimming. ?Cottage had all the conveniences from home and private too. We are already fantasizing about going back next summer but next time for a week!
Our family had an amazing stay at this vacation home. Everything was exactly as described and more! The views are stunning and the sunsets were gorgeous. We enjoyed watching bald eagles and sea lions and spent a lot of time exploring shells in the water. The location is fantastic, between Parksville and Qualicum Beach, and we were able to do many day trips to other sights on the island. Groceries were easy to get and we were not wanting for anything. The property management company was very easy to deal with and were available if we had any questions. We are already dreaming of our next vacation here!
We loved the cottage. It was very comfortable and had very nice lay out. Lots of sunlight and very spacious.
The only small thing was there was just the tail end of a roll of toilet paper and no more to be found anywhere. We had to go get our own.
My sisters and I have a weekend getaway once a year. This year we choose the Oceanfront Escape just outside of Sidney as my sister was having her convocation from UVic. We were extremely pleased when we walked into the home, there was everything we had asked for and more. The home was clean, well equipped, the hot tub overlooking the ocean as well as the entire open concept top floor. The fireplace added a cozy touch for the rainy day. We were on a dead end road perfect for our morning and afternoon walk. We were extremely pleased with the overall location and wonderful layout of the home. Beautiful. The downstairs fridge was not working properly and the bbq was dirty so we didn't use it. Otherwise no complaints.
A comfortable and efficient house in a quiet neighborhood. Some nice upgrades since the photos were taken for the website. Town center is 3 minutes away. The best fish'n'chips are at Salty's... All you can eat on Tuesdays. Nice people all around. Lovely 20 minute drive to Buchart Gardens 30 minutes to downtown Victoria in morning traffic. The greeter was on time for both check-in and check-out, which took less time than our pleasant chatting with the greeter. Nicely done.
We had several small issues upon check-in but EMR took care of most of them right away. Great location and with a little TLC, this home would be awesome. Furniture and carpet are worn, patio door does not lock, lots of smudges on the walls, missing artwork & light bulbs, cracks in the master bath tile, broken master bath drawer, etc. We did have a wonderful time in Victoria!
The property was absolutely gorgeous, well appointed, and spotless. It was a perfect rental for our group of three young families. We travel every year together, always booking through the two big vacation rental sites. HOWEVER. The rental company pestered us so often from booking through to access to the unit that we would NOT recommend booking this place. I have 42 emails in my exchange with this company. We had to provide our credit card number FOUR times AFTER booking through the rental site. We had to arrange to meet a greeter onsite on arrival, rather than use a code for the door, which they HAD but did not provide for us. Instead, we had ONE key to share amongst three families. All of the parties we encountered were very friendly, but it is completely unnecessary in 2018 to have to have this much interaction for a vacation rental. I've booked dozens of places on VRBO and Airbnb and the amount of interaction with this particular company was more than all the others COMBINED. They also used a combination of signed and scanned forms, website forms from multiple sites, which seemed very disorganized. I was a bit skeptical that the rental would actually work out, so I was pleased when our friends arrived and there was actually a greeter there. To summarize gorgeous property that is horribly managed by seemingly nice people that have no clue how vacation rentals work in this decade. I'd be happy to book again if the owners decided to use the VRBO or Airbnb platform as they're meant to be used - it would be 100x simpler, easier, and likely less expensive for them.
Our experience was great. Everything we needed was provided and there was more than we expected. Loved sitting by the fireplace and listening to music on satellite TV. Will definitely consider renting again.
Although it rained for most of the month of March, we had a fabulous time staying at Heron's Landing. The home is located close to Pat Bay with lots of cycling/walking paths nearby. And it was kind of cool having coffee in the living room and looking out at the horse traffic walking by. The rental is by far the best equipped we've stayed at. Also, there were lots of good restaurants within 10 km to choose from when we got tired of eating in. We'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to our friends and family.
Great Stay, fabulous time, property more than lived up to every expectation, however confusion on part of EMR regarding advance access required greeter to wait, and us to pay ridiculous penalty - bad start - and EMR fault
Myself, two other board members and out spouses all travel to a house near the city our annual meeting is held to decompress for the rest of the week. We have been doing this for several years and this is one of the nicest houses and the most scenic area yet,
This house was perfect for our annual ladies get together we all graduated high school together. The house provided us with a very comfortable living room to hang in and chat when we were not sitting outside on the deck. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was clean. EMR was very helpful and provided great customer service. The house was exactly as described in the property description and definitely met our expectations. The view exceeded our expectations! I would highly recommend Eagle Wing Tours in Victoria for whale watching and visiting Butchart Gardens. The location of the house is about 15 minutes to major shopping areas for food go to Langford and about 40 minutes depending on traffic from Victoria. I would also suggest visiting downtown Victoria - it's a beautiful city. This house/location was a great place for the six of us to stay for our annual vacation. I would highly recommend renting this home!
Fabulous place. It housed six adults and four children under 5 including two babies easily. Grandparents got the room to themselves upstairs, and each family a floor of the house. The downstairs is particularly spacious and well suited for a family to have some space to themselves. And lots of deck and yard space for nice weather bbqs, etc.
The place is really new, so everything looks perfect. You have a sense that you could be the first people to have stayed there.
Wonderful yard for the kids, perfect for easter egg hunts. Lovely quiet street for kids to ride bikes along and some forest opposite to go exploring in. Beach within easy walking distance. All the neighbours are friendly and welcoming. A v. short drive into Sidney.
The only downsides, if I dare identify any, are 1 soundproofing ain't great, you can hear everything from the floors above, and b the kitchen is small given how many people the house can easily accommodate, and no gas stove.
The management company were very professional and friendly. I would definitely look to rent accommodations through this company again.
And overall, without a doubt we'll be back again.
We shared Christmas with all the family and have a great time walking on the forest, on the beach and visiting interesting places in the surrounding. Incredible views, deers coming to our door and nicely mantained house. An experience to repeat.
Somewhat pricey, however, it was Xmas & prices for hotel/rental places tend to increase. Although, it was a great value.
The kitchen had all the amenities you need to make a variety of meals.
The house was sufficient for grandparents & family of 4 as there 2 bedrooms & full bath on 2nd for, and another bedroom on main, with access to another bathroom.
No open fires allowed wood burning, but propane fire pts are acceptable.
The inside fire place was unusable, and the Apple TV was not user friendly. The TV is a Roku Samsung which is not indicated in the listing & probably helpful for people to know.
The solarium is a nice added touch, had the weather co-operated it could have been used as an extra sitting/play area for the kids. As a suggestion space heaters would have been added bonus to sit & watch the birds and seals in the ocean.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.
Started out stressful for our flight arrived late night and had no clear directions to get to the place. To top it off, my GPS did not initially work and it was our first visit to the island. Thanks to our greeter, Richard, he met us right off the highway and led us to the place which had quite a few twists and turns. The rest of our stay was great and we really enjoyed the time just looking at the view. One noticeable thing was that the main floor got almost unbearably hot whenever we arrived late afternoon from sightseeing. None of the heaters were on as we checked repeatedly. Another minor thing was the bed sheets, cover and pillow covers could use a fresher scent as it had a sort of musty odor where my wife and I stayed. This is the bedroom next to the bathroom. Like, I said, these are both minor issues and we still enjoyed the house immensely! I would definitely rent the place again. Thank you to the EMR staff, especially Judi and Richard, our greeter who was so patient with us. Can't wait to schedule another trip to the island.
The house was exactly what we needed. The only negative feedback would be is the greeter told us that we had to give an exact check out time. When I questioned him about this he stated that he didn't make the rules that it was company policy. Other than this little hiccup I would definitely use EMR again for finding a vacation home.
I was extremely disappointed with the check in and check out process. The 'greeter' assigned did not respond to any phone calls and the new greeter arrived late. On check out the 'greeter' was stuck in traffic so also arrived late. The property BBQ area had an open can with cigerette butts in and trash scattered on the patio area.
It was our second stay in this property and it was just as lovely as the first. We love the house and the neighborhood. The proximity to the beach is great too. Many lovely walks were done during our stay. My dog enjoyed the spacious yard where he enjoys the sun and the quiet.
Property photos do not do this property justice! Although probably from the 90's the finishing quality is above average and well maintained. Very spacious with ocean view from every floor-to-ceiling window and direct access to miles of beach walking! Close to everything - but why would you want to leave!!!!!
Property updates were great. Only comments would be that the equipment in kitchen could be updated, path to dock should be corrected including the removal of dead trees one fell close to dock and boat while there.
We planned this holiday almost a year ago and my family had one very specific request. That the house be right on the beach. We had 6 adults and one infant. so it was hard to find. Thanks you for lmaking it all possible! From the moment wea arrived until the time we left it could not have been better. The accomadations were fantastic, the view awesome I would recommand this rental to anyone who was looking for a special getaway. The wildfife was outstanding from the bald eagles to the seals at night. The area is peaceful and enviting.
Beautiful house, beautiful view, just the perfect experience! The home is located just a few steps from the beach, and is handicap accessible which was fantastic for my father. The home is also well-stocked, the owners have though of everything! Location is between Parksville and Qualicum Beach. Major grocery store within 5 min drive. Quiet neighbourhood - perfect location to explore the surrounding areas.
Was a wonderful holiday! The only complaint is that the furniture was not comfortable and the carpet was not clean there were red wine stains on the carpet and couch. Other than that the location was fantastic and the kitchen was to die for! Will definitely book again.
We had a wonderful time. The view is specttacular, the home is very spacious. It needs some maintenance and the exterior needs cleaning. The only real complaint was the septic tank company came to pump the tank out just as we were having breakfast and it was very smelly.
The house was beautiful and clean, although the beds could use upgrading as they aren't very comfortable. It was stocked with more than everything you would need during a stay away from home and having the laundry facilities available is a wonderful luxury. The fenced yard is also a great treat. The description of a beach nearby is misleading, it is just a small little public area sandwiched between private property, not able to even walk to coastline a bit -- you have to drive past downtown Sidney to do that. Overall it's a GREAT vacation home and we would definitely consider it again if ever out that way!!
Loved staying in this beautiful basement apartment, walking distance to downtown, the art museum, Craigdarroch Castle, across the road from the Government House and parkgrounds. The neighborhood is wonderful, quiet, with beautiful gardens. Bob, the owner, was very helpful with recommendations. The kitchen is well stocked with most anything you might need, quality items not typically found in vacation rentals. Know that it is a basement apartment, and insulation between the floors is very thin, you can hear the sounds of people walking around upstairs, it wasn't a big issue for us because we appreciated everything else so much.
We enjoyed our stay in Sidney , the rental was very accommodating and the owner seemed nice. Sidney itself is a cute little town we ate out at a few lovely restaurants. The location was great just a 20-25 mins drive to downtown victoria lots to do and see. We would recommend this cottage to any of our friends or family that would like to visit victoria. The only thing that we regret is that we didn't stay long enough a week would of been great. Thanks again the Wardley family
We had a great stay at Heron View Cottage. It was an easy walk to downtown Sidney, the beach and relatives. It had all the amenities that we were looking for. We even met Jim, the owner, and he described the rebuild that he had completed on the cottage.
Clean unit. Quiet location. Pretty gardens. Secure parking garage. Comfortable furniture with recliners. Kitchen small with two small stovetop burners and a convection microwave oven. Comfortable kingsize bed and see through fireplace to bedroom was welcome on cool evenings. Property maintenance staff readily accessible.
There were just the two of us so we only used 1 of the two bedrooms and bathrooms. Loved the cottage, it was in a quiet residential street but not far from downtown. A partial view of the ocean but that didn't bother us too much. Very comfortable and clean.
We found the cottage to be a very pleasant, comfortable, relaxing space. We could see the ocean from our large windows and enjoyed our morning coffee gazing at the view. We would love to visit again when the spring flowers are blooming as the gardens looked like they would be beautiful. Thanks for making our vacation enjoyable!
Very happy. We were sick for the first day back from our cruise, but the view was great and we felt as though we didn't miss a thing. Beds being put together downstairs made a nice king. But beds upstairs were not as big as advertised. Kitchen was great.
Only one hair dryer and that one broke on the fifth day. The overhead light in the entry foyer was out as was the light in the entry closet which made it too dark but manageable. The advertised path leading to the shoreline was an exaggeration with a sign which said use at your own risk and it did not look passable.
However the house was in great condition and very comfortable. The furniture could have been firmer.
A little hard to get out of.
We spent a wonderful week staying at the Columbia Beach House. Firstly, the home it's self is perfect. Spacious, the location, the breath taking views from each of the rooms and the walks on the pebbled beach. Secondly, the home is so close to all of the best sandy beaches Parksville and Qualicum Beach offer. The fenced backyard and dog washing facility were enjoyed by our dog. The sunsets and sunrises were exceptional. The kitchen was fully stock. The personal touches throughout the home made it special. A real home away from our home.
This was a lovely stay. The residence was great, the area was great and overall we liked it very had a great restaurant within walking distance and all the amenities we needed. The small town was a short distance and had everything we needed there too. The view was a bit more limited than the description buy still nice. My experience with the EMR staff was excellent in finding and setting up this stay. My only complaint was that there was a gouge in the wall in the bathroom which the greeter pointed out to us and was no issue. But after our stay, I received an email asking us what we had done to cause this.I pointed out that it was there and even pointed out by our greeter. EMR said they would contact him but I never heard back that all was resolved even after two emails from me.
The highlight of this property is the fenced it garden which was great since we were travelling with our dog and it provided a great space for him to run and play. Other than that we found the property disappointingly basic - its a pretty old property and our first impression was it smelt damp and musty and unlived in. The main bed is low. Furnishing is to minimum standard. The kitchen cabinets are very old and basic - though the appliances are new and more than adequate. The cottage is supplied with everything you need for a stay. The laundry is located through what seems to be an old garage and definitely damp and smelly. If it wasn't for the garden it would have been hard to enjoy this cottage - and I'm not someone who generally complains about stuff. We cut our stay short and moved on. The location is fine in a very quiet area of Sidney a short walk from water and about 25 minutes walk from main town and shops. Bit too basic for our tastes..
Our group had a great stay at Heron's Landing and it was perfectly located for the event we were attending at Elk Lake. The close proximity to Sidney was also really useful for groceries, etc. The only minor negative aspect was some aspects of cleaning or lack of it. For a 200 fee, I would not expect to have to re-wash a lot of items in the kitchen perhaps they shouldn't trust the dishwasher to do the job and one of our party also found a neat pile of toenails on one of the nightstands. Heavy dust on top of the fridge and ceiling fans is easy to deal with, so there's not really any excuse there either. Get your cleaning company to earn their money!
The home and setting were very nice. The general condition was clean and ready for use. The rental staff weren't very knowledgeable about the property and what was included but overall our experience was positive. If you're looking for a quiet rental within short driving distance to amenities then this is an excellent location...
Beautiful location, roomy house, very clean and tidy. Could use a few more basic amenities in the kitchen, easier access to Netflix/Prime difficult to work the Apple TV. Would definitely stay here again with a group of friends.
Another reviewer said it before, I should have actually listen.
The property is fine and we had a great time.
The process through the property management called EMR or smth was awful. Worst that I have seen yet.
First I booked through VRBO so I was expecting to be done with it as I did many times before. Far from it. I received emails after emails with tons of instructions, phone calls, paperwork to fill out, send back, my credit card needed to be entered everywhere and in clear. Security whole all the way. I put in my CC once in VRBO, once I had to write it clear on the contract that I'm sure ends up in a file cabinet somewhere where the neighbor kid also has access, then I had to give it again on a 3rd party website that the property management uses to actually get your money less their vrbo listing fee, that I paid separately when I thought I was done with it. Then I had to show my cc to the greeting person which was a very nice lady btw.
What's up with the greet thing? Welcome to 21st, leave the key under a locked pin. I had to communicate my arrival hour and set it up instead of just showing up after 5pm whenever I liked! Wake UP! It was also suggested in one of the many did I mentioned? tones of email instructions and remote web site instructions that they would also appreciate a tip, you know, if I wanted a hotel, I would go to one. They also asked to give them my complete itinerary, which I didn't. What?? Why??
The property and the greeting lady were great, the booking process was not, by far the worst!
Great views great weather lots of wildlife and sea life Very peaceful and a nice vacation spot. Kitchen table was a little wobbly to say the least. It should be changed. Otherwise a good vacation experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Rockland area for walking -- loved the magnificent gardens &. the historic homes. This was our longest stay in Victoria and you need a home base. The Manor Suite was ideal. The kitchen was well equipped, the backyard lovely and the owners super people. Bob June was very accommodating. We missed the Sports & Business channels on the TV for the 1 st week as the owners were. Away. The Sports Channel was installed immediately on their return.
This was our second time staying at this relaxed, cozy garden cottage by Roberts Bay. The cottage is more like a little 2 story house. It is super clean, bright, airy and well stocked with very good bath, bed and kitchen supplies. The on-demand baseboard heating through the cottage works very well. The private garden patio is lovely. The owner takes pride in his garden and it shows. Most importantly bring binoculars to see the majestic bald eagles and such in the bay and surrounding trees!
This property was everything it claimed to be. We came from 4 different locations but the airport made it so easy. We would come back again. Even the weather was perfect.
Thank you for the family memories.
Perfect little bungalow for our family with 2 small children, didn't have to worry about them falling down stairs or getting into anything as there wasn't much breakables down for them to get into. House definitely has that cottage feel for the island life experience. Great backyard for them to play in & all fenced in. Perfect location for being close to the marina to sail. Lots of things to do with the kids all around within 10-15 mins away. Only downside is no dishwasher haha. Floor could've definitely used a wash as well but wasn't terrible.
This was our fifth visit to Pendray House. We enjoy the ocean side location and the close proximity to our family. Our grandchildren love the access to the water and exploring the beach. We had excellent weather for our stay and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets over the Saanich Inlet.
The property is in need of some repairs and maintenance and we have some suggestions to make this home more enjoyable for guests.
The back fence is in need of repair as the rails are rotting and the pickets are falling off. The stairs to the water are showing signs rotting and some of the steps are separating from the stringer. This is potentially dangerous. The dining room chairs, although recently reupholstered, have many stains on them and the sofa cushions are spotted and are in need of a cleaning. The silver wear needs to be cleaned. The kitchen recycle and garbage containers should probably be replaced or at least the inside of the lids and containers should be thoroughly cleaned, pretty grungy. The dishwasher doesn't dispense jet dry and the dishes end up spotted and many had to be rewashed by hand. There is perhaps a lot of crud trapped at the bottom of the dishwasher.
The yard and the decks are well maintained and quite enjoyable.
We enjoyed our stay however the stairs were a bit too much for us and especially for Adam. They were more of a inconvenience than anything. The parking was inconvenient as well. And there was no handicap parking in front of the building. The garbage situation was also a hassle having to separate everything before placing it in the recycling bin. We also found the beds to be quite hard and both my daughter and I woke up with sore backs everyday. Other than we enjoyed our stay. Convenient area and close to all amenities. But, again the stairs and the parking are something to deal with if you have groceries and sometimes had to park way down the road.
The photo of this beautiful home speaks for itself. When you stand on the balcony upstairs, you have a view all the way to Victoria. On a clear day it is really quite spectacular. Stores and restaurants are just minutes away. There were six of us, so with 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, it was perfect. Everyone got what they wanted. Due to the stairs from the ground level to the second level, it can be a little challenging, but not impossible for those with mobility issues. There is no shortage of entertainment since there were several TV's, a large screen media room and a hot tub. It would be helpful to have better instructions for operating the various televisions. We were all seniors so it took us a while to figure out how everything worked. This would probably not be a problem for younger folk. The garbage disposal instructions could be clearer as well. Folks from the island might know what needs to be recycled, separated, disposed of or composted, but we did not. These were minor annoyances and in no way did they affect our enjoyment of this wonderful vacation home.
Lake Cowichan Escape was a lovely house with all the amenities one would need. We were out on the front deck most of the time in and out of the hot tub and barbequing. The kitchen had everything and more that you would need for a large group. Plenty of dishes and cutlery. The private dock was wonderful! We fished, swam and had fun in our little boats we brought with us. The only down side is the trail from the rode down to the dock is steep in places so some of us couldn't make it down. My 88 year old mother for one and one of my sisters with bad knees. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean and very well appointed.
I stayed at the Heron View cottage for 4 nights with my elderly parents. The cottage is located on a quiet lane close to the water in the pleasant seaside community of Sidney. We enjoyed the convenience of a full kitchen and a nice view of Roberts Bay from the second level. Having two bathrooms and bedrooms on two levels gave everyone privacy and convenience. The beds and pillows were comfortable and everything was well supplied. Check in/out was simple and quick. The location was great for us as we had easy access to the airport, the ferry terminal, Butchart Gardens and only a half hour drive to the Victoria inner harbour. We could easily walk to restaurants and shops in the centre of Sidney and we enjoyed the walkway around the marina. Overall this is a great place to stay for a short or longer term stay.
This home was very clean, well kept, management was very easy to work with and pleasure. The house is perfect for a large family with children. We were two families with 7 children combined and this home was everything we needed. The beach and water front had incredible views and made our stay very relaxing, even with that many kids. We would stay here every weekend if we could!
The suite was great. Easy parking in and out. Location was within walking to groceries, downtown and good restaurants. The room worked really well with good beds, clean room and everything needed in the kitchen. Living room furniture was comfortable and casual so I didn't feel too uptight. There is a lot of light coming in with a large balcony for getting some good outside fresh air inside. Only downside was a small bathroom but overall I guess that's a non-issue.
Over all the house was great. We spent time in Sidney as well as Victoria and all the way yo Cambpell River. We went Whale watching ,caving, fishing, attended the fire works in Victoria. Lots of fun. See you next time.
The house surpassed the pictures. It was very clean and open and the view of the harbor was spectacular. The quietness and location were perfect to get away from the city. EMR communications were excellent in providing good customer service. Sidney is a great little town. The Butchart Gardens are amazing. Victoria is close enough to go for dinner at 10 Acres. Plenty of historical things in Victoria to see. Overall, it was an excellent experience and we look forward to coming back again soon.
With six bedrooms and four bathrooms near the top of a suburban mountain on the outskirts of Victoria, BC, this spacious, well-equipped home was indeed perfect for our extended family vacation. Ten days were just not long enough!
The property description was accurate and seemed to be well maintained. We loved Sea Glass Waterfront Grill, which was right next door and enjoyed walking the beach when the tide was out. The kitchen could have been stocked a bit more with items to cook with, etc. I think a small oven would be a great addition, although we enjoyed using the BBQ in the common patio area.
Manor Suite was perfect for us as we escaped the snow and cold of Toronto what was the first time but not the last! The suite was well appointed and there was plenty of room for my husband to set up and work remotely he moved the dining table into the bedroom and for us to enjoy cooking and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and the pressure in the shower was great. The bathtub was a definite bonus and luxury. Being able to use the backyard BBQ and sit outside and enjoy the sunshine helped us enjoy Victoria's lovely weather. Bob and Elizabeth were wonderful hosts and available to answer any questions. They also had a lot of great suggestions for sightseeing. The neighbourhood is walkable to everything and also is close to major bus routes. We highly recommend this suite to anyone who wants to enjoy Victoria and its environs.
Bob and Elizabeth's apartment was just right for our one month stay in Victoria. They are fabulous and friendly hosts and their property is clean and spacious. We are big walkers so downtown, the movies, grocery, and liquor store were 15-20 minute walks. The apartment is located between two sites--Craigdarroch castle and Government House. The pictures are very accurate and show a well-appointed, comfortable living space. We appreciated the in-apartment laundry, full appliance sizes, internet and cable. Our dog was safe in the fenced backyard. We were very satisfied with our rental choice and would highly recommend it to others.
Our family recently spent three nights at Heron's Landing and enjoyed everything about the house. We have rented homes for vacation stays many times and thought this was one of the best. The location close to Pat Bay is appealing and the neighbourhood has a great feel to it. The proximity to the airport is handy and we weren't troubled by hearing the occasional airplane overhead. The house is attractive and very comfortable, but what particularly impressed us was how immaculate and well organized it is. The house is very well stocked with dishes, cutlery, pots and pans etc. and since we like to cook this was important. The binder of information we were given was the most comprehensive we have ever seen, with an inventory of where to find anything we needed. We were warmly welcomed by Jeanette of EMR Vacation Rentals who gave us a thorough tour of the house so we felt secure that if we had any problems we didn't Jeanette would sort them out. All in all, it was a great experience and we hope to go back.
The loss of several thousand dollars - attempting to partner with EMR / VRBO is just one of the significant losses to our family, because of Covid. In the end, compared to the grieving of loved ones, it's little more than worthless money.
We thought the location was great and the view was amazing. The house was in poor condition. Walls needed repainting, couches were old, bedding was stained, carpet in poor condition. The greeter Solange was great as well as Ray, who checked us out. I felt the person whom I booked the house through Brenda was very inflexible. I almost canceled the reservation given the fact that I was so disturbed by her lack of flexibility. I requested that my parents be able to meet the greeter since my wife and I were not arriving until late but she would not allow this. We could have rewritten the contract in my parents name or found a solution as it was a major issue but apparently she could not go the extra effort to try and help us. I thought it was very poor customer service and for that reason I would not book with EMR again. I can look past the issues with the house as it is not a big deal but the grief that was caused with Brenda really made our vacation start off poorly
An older home so an old design and finishing etc.but the location makes up for that. This rental is well stocked with dishes, cookware, and some spices. The beds were comfortable. You can walk to the beach. If you want a location right in Sidney that doesnt cost a fortune this could be your spot.
We been in a lot of rental home before ,We are four people come to stay in this place for a week .. i mention to the greeter that the toilet paper would not be enough and he absolute say you can buy your own the store is not that far.. not coming here again...
An absolutely beautiful house, fully equipped with everything we needed. A perfect layout for a big group like us as it's open planned living area provided us with the perfect balance of being able to chill together, but to also get a few hours solitide when needed! The Hot tub, terrace and BBQ combo truly made our holiday. Thank you very much EMR - we will definitely be back!
Just wonderful. Nice 2/1 condo walking distance to the Harbor, restaurants etc. Being located in a quiet historic neighborhood was very refreshing. Secure underground parking was a plus. The only negative was no AC. Although we didn't need it most of the time, would have been nice on occasion. Would definitely stay there again.
Very clean and safe condo. The staff very helpful and accommodating. Nice to have the little things like soap and paper towels in stock so you do not have to run out the first day.
Would recommend this to anyone.
Best apartment rental we had on the 30 day trip to the west . Bob and Elizabeth are great hosts and the space they have created is Primo. Location to events and place could not have been better. Charles & Diane
We arrived at Heron's Landing and within a few minutes Richard was there to greet us and show me around the house. What a beautiful spot, tree-lined, yet so close to the Sound. It is in a great neighborhood with friendly people and dogs who behaved so well. We were definitely impressed. The glass front house was so beautiful.Having a downstairs proved a blessing as some of us got tired and were able to go to that floor, watch tv, eat, sleep, etc.without bothering others. This is what I would call the kids floor. Games, books, etc. everywhere. We are all over 60, but still enjoyed the bedroom downstairs with two bunks. Everyone slept very well, and those who gave recommendations to us of places to see, eat and go to visit, were so helpful. Buchart Gardens wowed all of us and we were totally impressed. If there was one negative about the house, it was all the spiders and webs behind the tv's and some of the furniture. But overall, we would certainly recommend Heron's Landing to those visiting Victoria. Hope to return.
While house was lovely, the access road was very steep, as was the path from house down to lake. Plenty of outdoor furniture to make the most of every area.
Saw lots of deer, squirrels and humming birds. Only caught one fish.
We rented this beautiful home for an all adult family reunion. Loved having the granny flat available for privacy. The views were exceptional, and we loved having the large yard and fabulous long dock to ourselves. Because we enjoy meals together, they arranged a 7-person setup for dining that worked well for us. We observed several families of river otters, a pair of bald eagles, and a harbor seal in the bay. Wishes more than one set of towels per person and a large salad bowl. Leaving the driveway to turn onto Sooke Road was always a challenge because of the vehicles that can come along too fast. If the county would install mirrors that would help. Great memories of the home and area!
All in a good place and convenient. Owners belongings made storage space a premium. Had trouble with neighbours being over sensitive re my small pet. Gave wrong impression while he was adjusting. Had feeling of being spied on by cameras. No neighbourly contact.
We walked in to a beautiful home, extra super clean with a view to die for! Very accomodating home for the four of us. Centrally located to lots of activities and beautiful drives. Our greeter was very accommodating and full of information to make our stay the best ever. The whole experience - start to finish - from getting information to rent the home to check out was easy and very professional. Thanks to all! We will be back!!
The Kye Bay Beach House was perfect for our birthday getaway. It's even better than the photos on the website. It is a nice quiet location on the waterfront with gorgeous views, has a great fully-equipped kitchen, comfy beds..... everything one could want! Thankyou for a great stay!
Our visit was during the month of March. We have visited the area most winters but this was the first four week stay and we found this home to measure up to its claims with amazing views of the water with abundant marine traffic, birds and even squirrels to entertain. The weather cooperated, spring came early to Vancouver Island and even had occasion to sit on the deck and catch some rays.
Liked Open space living area, Deck, Views, SIRIUS Radio, Hot tub, Friendly Hostess addressed concerns
Dislikes obstructed views - several of the sealed picture windows on one side of the living area have become opaque because they have lost their seals
Suggestions bring your own fry pan and muffin pan oven does not show actual oven temp, being it is an older cook top/stove, so bring an oven thermometer
First time using VRBO/EMR and found the experience did not disappoint. If opportunity allows us we would come back.
There were 7 of us, it was like our own home. Very clean with plenty of towels, pots and pans and dishes and very spacious, we were never on top of each other! And the location couldn't have been better - located within a 45 minute drive from everything we did whale watching excursion, scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, golfing both regular and miniature, peaceful walks, wineries, beach walking and much more we didn't do! The weather was also wonderful. We highly recommend this beautiful house and vacation spot to anyone!
Our 8 night family stay at Oceanfront escape was amazing. We loved the views, the space, the general location close to everything and the proximity to the water. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable. We spent a lot of time down at the lower deck and near the water. Only issue was the condition of the access route to the water, but the children loved the adventure. We would certainly consider visiting again.
The location of the Pendray house was amazing. Our group of nine women loved sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean or strolling the beach. The 3 queen rooms were very nice with comfortable beds. Downstairs bunk beds were adequate. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. We cooked in most nights and it was great to have a BBQ, seating for 10 and plenty of dishes etc. Enjoyed exploring nearby Sidney, Island Beach Park and Butchart Gardens was close and worth the visit. A lovely 4 days catching up with old friends!
This is a very nice house in Metchosin. It takes a little time to get there because of the slow speed limits on the rural roads in Canada. The house was completely stocked with everything needed for a great vacation including golf clubs and tennis racquets. Kitchen had coffee and spices and enough settings for 12 guests. Our family of 7 enjoyed the stay.
Everything went well with our 1 month stay. We enjoyed the open layout of the cottage with the view of the bay. It was in a great location. Everything worked well. Loved the view, patio and gardens. We did speak directly to the owner about the need of blinds for the cottage to provide some privacy especially at night. All went well until we checked out. We received an email accusing us of putting tinfoil in the oven and which apparently caused some damage. We did not put tinfoil in the oven. The EMR rep did not ask us if we did this, but assumed that we did. We are not happy about how EMR communicated with us on this matter. We would have appreciated a phone call asking us whether we had used tinfoil, instead of accusing us. We are currently waiting for an appology.
We had such a great time staying at this adorable cabin. The cabin is right on the lake with your own dock and paddle boat to use. We brought our kayaks which was perfect for the lake, swimming was also absolutely perfect as well. Lots of beautiful wild life around, from the painted turtles that live in the lake to the humming birds dancing around and blue herons nesting at the end of the lake. I loved this place and cannot wait to go back.
Overall our weeklong stay was very good. Loved the lay-out, large kitchen well-equipped, superb setting, especially for children. Comfortable beds, efficient bathrooms, more than ample supply of linens, cottage temperature easy to adjust, effective. Dining room furniture was expansive and in good shape. We were eight - adults and children. Good ease of access, services, facilities nearby. Approachable, engaging neighbours.
We enjoyed a 30 day fun-filled family vacation at Resthaven Cottage in Sidney. Resthaven Cottage was clean and well-maintained and its location was perfect for shopping, walking and trips to the beach. The layout of the cottage was great for family visits and the yard and barbecue were used for family dinners where the grandchildren and our small dog could play outside in the fenced yard. Our only complaint was the bed in the master bedroom which was only 6 inches off the floor. We had to sleep in the two twin beds in the second bedroom as my husband could not get in and out of the low bed. I feel the height of the bed should be specified in the rental information so Seniors know this before renting the cottage. Otherwise, I would recommend this property for a great vacation!!
We enjoyed our stay as the condo is centrally located and close to great walking locations and shopping. The condo was quiet with secure, safe parking and is generally well-equiped but could use some updating for pots/pans and furniture. Although the unit is non-smoking, people smoking in the hallways and neighbouring balconies can be an issue when the windows are open.
Some of the dishes in the kitchen weren't very clean as if they had been put away dirty by other users. A light bulb in the track lighting needed to be replaced and there wasn't much toilet paper. I admit we didn't run out but we kept worrying we would! Also the garage for the car is very small and you were asked not to park on the street for more than an hour or so at a time so I was glad I didn't rent a larger car. Otherwise a charming cottage in a peaceful location. We really enjoyed spending time in the small but beautiful garden off the deck.
It was a nice place and near the hospital as in our case. Very well kept and well stocked with spices and towels and other accessories. It was nice to have a printer and also paper for the printer.
We were here for a family wedding & thoroughly enjoyed our stay - morning walks along the beach, lots of cycling paths nearby, close to Sidney & the airport,a beautiful home with everything we needed and more. Great for any group up to eight people. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a great week with friends and family. The house was very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. The hosts were friendly and efficient. We will definitely stay again!
We stayed here for 2 months. This Property was perfect in every way. Stunning views, spotless, spectacular recluse location, beach at your fingertips. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for having us.
The place is beautiful, spacious and has a great feeling to it! The views are stunning, and it is close to shops and lots of good hikes. We appreciated the design, the lighting and the sound system. It is a great place for families. I highly recommend it.
The vacation home at Heron's Landing was absolutely amazing . The location truly felt like home rather than just a place to stay. After staying there , I don't think any hotel , no matter how fancy , would have even come close.
We had such a nice relaxing time at this Oceanfront Lodge. The infinity pool/hot tub is perfect. Getting to the beach was super easy, just a short walk and we got to take the kayaks out on the calm waters. The house had everything you could need including a den/game room with pool. Most rooms also have their own bathroom. Property management team was available to let us in and give us a tour of the place and even left a basket of goodies. We loved it all.
Good location. Close to golf, wineries and diners. We are owed 24 for a propane tank that we had to fill. Previous reviews mentioned empty propane but the greeter pointed out 2 tanks beside BBQ. But that did not stop them from proving to be empty. Even one of those tanks was well beyond expiration date
We spent 6 days here on a family get away with 8 ppl, including a very elderly Grandma, so we spent a lot of time at the house. The backyard setting and views of the water and wildlife bald eagles nesting nearby & seals are truly spectacular. There is a lot of comfortable outdoor seating, which was great, because this is where we spent the majority of our time. My daughter loved taking the stairs down to the beach to collect shells. The water here is quite calm. We also enjoyed all being able to eat dinners at the large dining room table. The kitchen is updated and well stocked with the equipment you need to cook your own meals. We had a couple issues with the pool temperature and the BBQ, but this was due to us being the first guests of the summer season. The management company and owner were great about addressing the issues immediately.
This rental was just as advertised. It was great for our large extended family and friends. It had plenty of rooms/area for privacy along with a large great-room upstairs for everyone to gather. There were also several TV's, a media room and a hot tub which we didn't have time to enjoy with a wonderful view of Victoria. Very welcoming and comfortable too.
Really enjoyed the stay. I suggest that the property description includes greater detail about the separate residence on the property... it should be made clear that this refers to the basement had we have known this we would have chosen a different location. Trying to keep our two your children quiet and respectful of the occupants of the basement suite was a full time job and really took away from our enjoyment unfortunately. That said there weren't any complaints from the tenants... but as a respectful and mindful renter it just didn't turn out to be a good fit for us. I wouldn't recommend this property to families with toddlers unless they are very calm and quiet unlike ours!or unless the parents simply don't care.
This is the cleanest nicest property I've ever stayed with my family. This property has it all. Simply amazing and will definite visit again. The wildlife in the yard is amazing the furniture is clean and amazing. Truly perfect.
Rest Haven Did not quite live up to its descriptions,
The outer pictures show it quite well. The only discrepencies were that the front and rear landings were not in the condition shown. Both front and rear landings had holes from rotting timbers and the stain was in quite poor conditions
Internally, the house was also in quite adequate condition.
Discrepancies were There was no dish washer as stated in manual. BBQ was in extremely poor cleanup
shape, Master Bedroom bed is not satisfactory for
Seniors as it is virtually on the floor. Beds in second bedroom appear to be Child Beds and not suitable for an adult.
Compared to our last Rental in Tofino, the price per day was the same, while the quality of the home was considerably less. As an additional item, we paid for Pet Friendly, and did not consider that having to clean up from the Neigbourhood Racoon was kosher!
The location was easy to find, close to the water and Down Town.
We were2 families,2 parents, 2 children & 2 grandparents
The home was fabulous, the view of the ocean awsome situated in a quite neibourhood where we didn't have to worry about the children.
The tidal pool in the back of the house gave us all hours of exploration & a safe place for the children to swim, even at high tide.
The home was close to everything & there is lots to do and see in the Parksville area, we especially liked the sand castle display on the beach & of course Coombs.
We would recommend this rental home & your company to anyone interested in spending a wonderful holiday at the ocean.
This was the perfect holiday rental, a real home from home with superb views. Close to Sidney and easy reach of Victoria. We are a family of 4 with two young adults and we all found this so relaxing. Close to the water with views across North Saanich sound and eagles landing outside. The hot tub and gym were great additions and we could not imagine a better place to stay.
it was the perfect home for our Christmas family reunion. it was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking appliances, the bedrooms were cozy and comfortable and the living space was relaxing. we loved having the lower level for games and TV. the children loved all the great toys and adults played some board games. I would definitely do it again and would love to rent it during the summer if available. the back deck and yard are beautiful. it is a short walk to the water and there is a nice walking trail.
