Woodland House is a unique, functional, practical, multi-level 3 Bedroom 1400 sq. ft. modern family home occupying the 2nd, 3rd and 4th levels of a multi-storey house. The home normally accommodates 5-6 persons in the 3 bedrooms but 2 additional persons can be accommodated on the sofa-bed in the living room. For larger groups, an additional 3 persons can be accommodated in a separate studio apartment which may be available at additional cost. Please inquire.
On the ground level is the driveway parking, main entrance, front foyer, laundry room with full sized washer and tumble dryer. A separate small studio suite is on this level, at the back, which may also available at additional cost. On the second level is a well equipped large gourmet kitchen with dining area at the back of the house which overlooks the garden. There is no formal dining room as such, but the table will seat 6-8. With 2 sky lights and windows on three sides, it is a very bright room that catches the morning sun.
The Master bedroom faces east and the morning sun. Good size room with Queen bed plus 1 twin bed for triple occupancy, ensuite bathroom with tub and shower. There are 2 smaller bedrooms facing West with a double bed and 1 twin bed respectively. On this floor is also a full bathroom with tub and shower.
On the third level is the living room 13x18 set across the width of the house that has a mainly westerly orientation for the afternoon sun. Large windows on all four sides make the room bright and airy. One window over the fireplace looks north to the mountains. A large balcony 12x21 running alongside the living room favours the afternoon sun, and a view to the local Mountains that form a backdrop to Vancouver. A BBQ, patio table and chairs are available here.
Up on the fourth level, you find another staircase on the exterior which leads to the top of the house and another big deck 11'x18' 'the Captain's walk!' from which the 360 degree view is just fabulous. Shake a branch with the Norway Spruce, which towers over the North East corner of the deck, and overhangs a few branches. This area may be inaccessible during a heavy snow fall. Two huge decks/balconies with discrete concealed nighttime illumination equals a summer entertainer's dream. An afternoon espresso or an aperitif with appetizers or both! Dinner alfresco, then evening cocktails by moonlight on the upper terrace with a view of Vancouver all lit up and the Mountains in silhouette! Wonderful!
In the East side of Vancouver, this house is in the area known as Commercial Drive. The Drive considered Vancouver's Little Italy with its cosmopolitan mix of trendy bohemian residents and visitors. Located just far enough away from the noise, hustle and bustle of downtown Vancouver it provides a more gentle, quieter way of life, but offers easy access to downtown and most other areas of interest.
Woodland House is close to two big parks, tennis courts, community fitness center, with cycling, walking, and running trails. This very relaxing home is convenient to downtown by car or city transit at the corner. Close by there are a variety of coffee shops, many ethnic restaurants and little owner run shops. There are more than enough things to do in the area if you would like to escape the business of downtown. The whole area can be walked very easily, nothing is very far away.
By car you are about 15 minutes to the city center, 20 minutes to the airport and Richmond, and about 35 minutes to and from the US border. Whistler is 1.5 to 2 hours depending on weather and traffic. Snow tires or chains are required north of Squamish at certain times during the winter.
Double Sofa bed available on 3rd floor for additional sleeping. Separate 3 person ground floor studio suite may also be available for larger groups of up to 11 persons at additional cost.

The first payment is a deposit of 50% of the accommodation total plus applicable taxes due at time of booking. The balance is due 45 days prior to occupancy. Damage deposits are a pre-authorized hold on your credit card and are collected only if deemed necessary.
Visa, MasterCard, American Express and a Bank Wire Transfer are all accepted methods of payment. All payments are in Canadian dollars. All reservations must be secured by a credit card.
