Magnolia Cottage is a beautiful, new cottage in an ideal location for your vacation. Enjoy this lovely setting that is near beach access and parks like Vantrieght Park and Ferndale Forest Park.

The entrance is warm and inviting, welcoming you with potted plants. When you open the front door, you see a fully functioning kitchen equipped with everything you need. The home includes all high-end appliances. The cabinets, countertops and flooring are well constructed and have a modern elegance. Adjacent to the kitchen, there is a nice eating area where there is an espresso coloured table with four chairs. In the cabinet you will find complimentary Epicure spices and tea. The living room has a couch that has a double sized sofa bed. There is a full bath that has been nicely appointed. Lighting fixtures are elegant and help the home feel bright and airy. The bedroom is a comfortable retreat to rest and relax in and hosts a large closet and window.

The window near the sink is overlooking the backyard where there is ample room for a picnic under the magnolia tree or a glass of wine on the patio table. Across the yard, there is a small garden where you are welcome to dig or plant. Vegetable compost is beside the garden. Around the corner, you can find a peach tree and elsewhere in the yard there is a eucalyptus and an apple tree.

Only a five minute drive to Gyro Park and Beach area, this vacation home is close to many amenities like the Cadboro Bay Village where there is grocery shopping, a drug store, bulk goods store, a liquor store and a gas station. Across the street, there is an Italian deli where you can purchase Gelato, pasta salads and soups of the day. Find a treasure to take home at one of the boutiques. For those looking for some relaxation there is a spa, Starbucks and a local pub in the village as well. The Cadboro Bay Village offers one of the local's favourite spots for fish and chips. If you drive for ten minutes, you can find a grocery store and a mall called the University Heights Plaza where there is shoe shopping, a tailor, post office and a home box store. If you want to visit downtown Victoria, there is a bus stop located down the street which will take you directly downtown in 25 minutes.

The best thing about the Magnolia Cottage is the beach access. There are different beaches nearby like St. Margaret's Beach, a long strip of sandy beach where children and adults can try their hand at skim boarding or snorkeling. There are people sunbathing in the summer that bring their picnic baskets and blankets to have lunch down at the beach. In the cottage there is a picnic basket is provided for your convenience. Gordon Point and Arbutus Cove beach accesses are also fun to enjoy as well. After a day at the beach come back to the cottage and continue the outdoor fun by the barbecue. Yes The accommodation was in a quiet, relaxing environment. It was clean and well equipped including wireless internet access, and I saw no problem during my stay. It takes only a five minute walk to a nearby park and ten minutes to the seashore. There is no grocery store or any shop within a short walking distance, but you can reach large supermarkets within 5-10 minutes by car. It was the beginning of winter and I had much rain, but there was some sunshine occasionally and it was fun to walk around. Yes We really enjoyed our stay at Magnolia Cottage and we are very thankful for agent we had because everything was planned very well and even we made a mistake with our trip back home and had to leave a day early, it wasn't a problem at all. The house was really clean and it wasn't very far to get to some shops and to the city centre. When we had a problem with turning with the shower we just made a short call and everything worked out. All kitchen items were there, we couldn't think of anything missing. All in all our vacation was great. Peter M.

The mattress was covered with bits of unknown particles. Therefore, I was not comfortable during our stay at this accommodation. We only brought the required change of clothing and toiletries into the cottage. The area was very nice, but from the ad, I thought this was a cottage, not a converted garage on someone's property. All of our properties are professionally cleaned and we try to make sure everything is made perfectly clean for our guests. We are sorry that the bed was not appropriate for your stay. We do ask our guests to let us know immediately if any issues arise at the properties they are renting so we can act on it quickly for our guests comfort. The Magnolia Cottage is not a converted garage but a complete and modern stand alone building. There is a garage to the side of the building but it is not used while guests are staying on the property. It is a separate building on a shared property with a larger house. The property listing does state on our website there is a caretakers suite on the property as well. It is a very nice and well appointed place but we are sorry to hear it did not meet your expectations. We will hope you will return to visit us again in the future and we will endeavour to exceed your accommodation expectations.
