Interested in the 2010 Winter Olympics

The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler is an exciting time for us all. Here in BC we are very much looking forward to hosting the world for such a prestigious event. The official Olympic period will be from February 12th to the 28th 2010 and March 12th to the 21st 2010 for the ParaOlympics. During this time we would be proud to offer your home as a rental to some of the many visiting individuals expected for the 2010 Winter Olympics in both Vancouver and Whistler.

In order to protect both you, the owner, and our guests, we have a stringent sign up process. As part of this sign up process, one of our Homeowner Sign up Agents will personally guide you through our system and help you get your property listed on our site. We feel that this personal touch is far superior to having a system that is self-serve as it allow us to better familiarize you with how our system works, allow you to meet some of the people you will be interacting with when the time comes for you to get your booking and maintain the hands on aspect of our business model. The Homeowner Sign up Agent will discuss all details about your property with you either in person or over the phone, whichever is more convenient for both. The Agent will review our Contracts with you, allowing you to review both the Owner Agreements and the Guest Agreements so you can feel comfortable that we have your best interests in mind when renting out your property. The Agent will add your property to our system, ensuring accuracy in every aspect of the service from property details to rates. You will get at least one personal visit from one of our representatives, as every property is priced in person. More likely you will have several visits if you so desire.

Listing Fees

EMR Vacation Rentals DBA Access Vacation Group has been in the business of Vacation Rental Agency for more than 5 years now and in this time we have found that we can provide better service, we can ensure better quality homes and we feel the listing fee is an important step in getting your property listed with our company. Currently we charge a one time fee of $250 CAD + GST to list on our site, regardless of your property type, size or location. If you have multiple properties to list, please discuss discounts with us for multiple property listings.

Photography

We highly recommend getting a Professional Architectural Photographer to take pictures of your property. While you might have some point-and-shoot shots of your home, these most likely do not portray your home in the way that a professional can achieve.

We have found that even the nicest property will not rent using poor images and properties that are not spectacular rent very well if they have good, professional images.

Our Photography packages start at $75 and are worth every penny. Please discuss getting professional shots with your Listing Agent and they will arrange for the photographer in your selected price range to contact you immediately.

Cleaning Your Property

In order to make the stay at your property as comfortable as possible, one of the most important things is to ensure that your property is extremely clean. During the Olympic period, you will be required to ensure that your property is ready for the guest before the guest arrives. The guest will pay to clean the property when their stay is over but you are responsible for the property to be clean previous to the arrival of the guests.

It is very important that the level of cleanliness is that of resort style cleaning. You will be required to "Deep Clean" your house prior to the guest's arrival. This means that every surface must be wiped, furniture must be moved, the kitchen area should be spotless with no food remnants in drawers, on counters, around or in the stove and even behind your major appliances. We will begin to inspect the level of cleanliness of our rental homes in the months prior to the games to ensure that your home is spotless for the guests. This is very important for people to feel at home, and as a company, our cleaning standards are at resort quality. We want people to walk in the door and say "Wow, this place is clean!".

Personal Effects

A large part of getting your home ready for your guests is removing your personal effects. Think of your home as a resort and prepare it as such. Things like linens and towels can remain in closets but everything else that is of a personal nature should be removed. This allows the guest plenty of room to store their own personal items in your dressers and closets. Your belongings should all be secured under lock and key either on site or in another location. Leaving items around that you do not wish to be used is an invitation for those items to get used, regardless of if you note your desire to have them remained unused. The best thing to do is to remove the item.

You should also remove all unopened products in the bathroom and kitchen. You can feel free to leave sealed items of soap, shampoo or condiments in the kitchen but everything that has been opened and previously used should be removed for storage. Your fridge should be completely empty of opened food containers. Your cupboards should be devoid of opened and used food items. Simply box it up and store it somewhere else while your home is being rented.
